    Hello

I've been a long time lurker, so should say thanks for all the hugely informative posts that have made getting to know Chicago's food much easier (and a lot more fun). I was motivated to register because I have a question I can't answer - I need somewhere to take a friend for a post-theatre dinner, at short notice (tomorrow), somewhere downtown. And I'm stumped, because the biggest adjustment in moving to Chicago (from London) is how early people eat, and there's nothing more likely to put me off my food than being the only people in the restaurant late at night. Good people of LTHF, can you help?

    Cheers.

Bijan's serves until 4 am. It is not fine dining but it is pretty darn good.

    Agree with Maude's Bar.

You may also be able to get a table at Girl and the Goat post 10 pm on a Wednesday night (when you say theater downtown, you're coming from either the Goodman or the Broadway in Chicago theaters, I presume?)

Avec is pretty busy at any time of the night and late night, but we've found it to be a great post-theater destination as well.

    Have fun!

It's not clear from the OP how late "late" is but the kitchen at the Paramount Room is open pretty late - 1 AM I think on Fridays/Saturdays.

Thanks everyone - we had a great time at Sunda, Maude's has gone on the 'Must try' list and from past experience I agree Bijans is great.

I'm surprised by mentions of Miller's Pub, though - I've eaten there twice completely forgettably. Might give it another go.

    Thanks again.
