The ex-boyfriend used to vacation in Brittany, France, and while there would buy a salt-herb mix that was a delicious all-purpose seasoning.

I've googled Brittany herbs and haven't come up with a lot of hits, though this one (a sea salt with bay, thyme, rosemary & basil) sounds probable:
    http://www.amazon.com/Sel-Gris-Grey-Sal ... B00018D2VK

(This one--which seems unavailable on a number of sites--is a bit chunkier than the version he bought, but the flavor profile sounds right.)

Has anyone seen anything similar sold locally? Or does anyone who's been to Brittany think it could be some other combo/have another name that I'd be better off searching for?

    Thanks.

One thought is that it was something like Sel de Provence. I can pretty much guarantee the Spice House has a taster of it at all of their stores, so maybe drop by and see if it fits the bill.

Thanks Gleam. It's been >2 years since I last tasted it, but I don't recall lavender being part of the flavor profile. That said, I'll have to stop by Spice House to check out it or see if they have any suggestions.

You are probably looking for "fleur de sel de Guérande aux herbes''.
I would start with a wonderful store in Andersonville which offer many Hig quality european olive oils, vinegars, and ...sea salts.
