    Friend:

You will get a much better response if you are more specific. That is a broad topic. Many threads about mexican restaurants have been developed over many years. Try searching by town (Downer's Grove) or dish (like 'al pastor').

Also look at the Great Neighborhood Restaurant Awards.

This is a great Forum, but long time members are inclined to help you out if you do a little work first.

That being said, I will just throw a few out. Search and you will find discussion that will probably lead to more suggestions. Good luck.

    Hi,

I see you are new and may appreciate some simplified advice. I'm not from Chicago, but have some ideas:

From the 2009 GNR Awards - West Side Suburbs: (http://lthforum.com/cert/GNR_pocket_guide.pdf)

      La Quebrada
      4859 W. Roosevelt, Cicero (708) 780-8110

      Xni-Pec
      5135 W. 25th St., Cicero, 708.652.8680

    From Chicago Magazine

I assume there is no relationship between the two restaurants named Xni-Pec.

I hope that this helps you find some great Mexican food. Chicago is filled with wonderful Mexican food.

The Xni-Pec that was in Cicero moved to Brookfield. We don't recommend trying to find Xni-Pec in Cicero any more.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have had numerous people tell me to try El Zarapa and Front Street Concina in Wheaton, which I have done several times trying many things on the menu I thought they were good but I just haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe a great burrito or chimichanga with a great cheese or red sauce. I even like a great fish taco with a jalapeno white cheese on it. I will try the suggestions. Thanks much! JL
