Hello! Mr. Pie and I would like to find a romantic place for pizza tonight that's as close to us (Niles) as possible, definitely nowhere near downtown.

    Any ideas?

If dark booths and Christmas lights are your idea of romantic (they are one of mine), then Manzo's would be a good choice. Irving Park and Kedzie, just 5 minutes from the Kennedy. (I'm assuming they haven't changed the decor since my last visit, which was under different management, I believe.)

Is the romantic location more important to you than the pizza itself?

    Great Pizza... Romantic Location... Hmmm...

The Nite 'N Gale in Highwood has a decent sized room with a bar in the middle of it, with dim lighting, old school booths and an excellent crispy thin crust pizza (as well as a full menu of steaks, chops, fish, etc). Plenty of free parking.

Marie's Pizza (a GNR!) on Lawrence just west of Pulaski is one of my all-time favorites for thin crust. On Thursday and Friday nights they have live jazz, which can be romantic. I don't think they have live music on Tuesday though. It's a classic neighborhood joint with chandeliers and big red booths, which can be charming if you like nostalgia (or a turn off if you're a trendy hipster). Street parking is usually not a problem and it's free. Just take Milwaukee to Elston to Lawrence from Niles.
