    jnm123--

That's the best start for a Monday morning I've ever heard of. I'm going to try it.

Next Monday, I'll have four breakfasts, too.

Jim--it's just enough, not over the top. A 1 oz. ripple of nova on each toasted half of a round onion bialy (they don't have 'em at Kaufman's--these are perfect--the bagel is too much bread it seems) with just a tad of cream cheese, to me, is perfect with a hot cup of coffee. Crunchy, hot, cold, salty...all at the same time. That's my Mon-Thurs breakfast for the last 3 years at least. Creature of habit I guess!

And cost wise, probably no more than $3.00-$3.50 per day--lox is no longer the food of the bourgeousie. NYB&B is a gem!

Mon-Thurs breakfast? You mean I don't get to eat all four sandwiches on Monday?

And I never get tired of it. SO good!

    I whole-heartedly agree!
I keep trying to find less expensive lox, but NOTHING compares to the lox at NYB&B. Expensive, but heavenly and as far as I can tell - incomparable now in Chicago.
Oh I long for the days that you could get decent lox and bagels at a dozen places within several miles form the north shore.
Getting harder and harder to find.
I frequent NYB&B because I want (no - check that - NEED)them to stay in business - we are lucky to have them!

Every single time we have lox and bagels (at lease once a month at our house for Sunday night dinner!) [husband works Sunday mornings].
I lament the loss of smoked whitefish in this area. Guess it could happen to anything in this day and age.

Creamed Cheese - I do agree with a post above that for some reason Kaufmann's has superior cheese, especially the chive! Don't know if there is a hint of garlic or what, but it always leaves you wanting more.

One caveat- NYB&B does have the best lox spread, try it - its delightful.

I, for one, am glad I have never been to New York. I have no idea what I am missing!
