    Found in the back of the 'fridge - Athena brand Feta, at least a year old.
    No visible mold, no funky smell (well no more than you'd expect from feta).

    Is this even remotely safe?

    If it's still completely submerged in brine, it should be totally fine.

    No brine this was packed dry - you'd think it would have dried out or gone moldy but it looks just fine.
    I'm going for it.

    Yeah that's how I found it. We usually don't empty the entire thing more than once a year and it's time.

    Really good!
    Just finished a grilled chicken, feta, kalamata olive, pepperoncini and red wine vinaigrette sandwich - quite tasty.

    I'm still alive!

    I'm guessing it's the high salt content of the feta that wards off any bugs - either that or I have a magic fridge where time stands still.
