I want to smoke up some hot links this weekend for Easter. In the past, I've mostly used links that I've gotten from Peoria Packing. In search of more/better options I came onto LTH and noticed that we didn't have a thread dedicated to hot links (raw/uncooked) that people liked.

Let's get to it! Let me know what you like, why you like it, and where I can purchase some. Also, I've noticed that many like Uncle John's hot links. Can you buy those uncooked from Uncle John's? Do you have to buy them at Uncle John's or do they sell them elsewhere?

    Thanks in advance...

I'm under the impression that UJ's are a special product not sold elsewhere.
I wholeheartedly endorse his links. I will never be able to say I've tried them all, but for the past few years, I buy a box of his links, and I never really go wanting.

Moo and Oink TURKEY hot links are something special, imo. Love those things too. You can get em at Moo and oinks, I usually get mine at Ultra Foods. The TURKEY ones. I've not bought the other ones with the Moo and Oink label. A family member turned me on to the TURKEY ones. They are flippin fantastic.

I like both of these because they have a balanced, sagey flavor, they're not overpowered by salt, and they have a decent kick of heat. Sausages are ususally salt overload for me, but I can (and sometimes do) eat these links all day long.

So, if you want the UJ's, just call them up, and ask if he can have a box ready for you. I think it's a 15lb or a 30 lb, they'll let you know. They will be frozen.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

UJ's hot links are produced for him by grant park packing, and I believe you can buy them there.

I ended up going to Moo & Oink and picking up their turkey hot links. I smoked them on Sun. and they were fantastic. Seebee's description is right on. As long as I was there, I picked up their pork hot links too. I haven't made those yet, however. I'll report back when I do. Thanks.
