    Hi all
I'm looking for the best spot to get a tamale. Preferably on the north side. And not the kind at hot dog joints - but more authentically Mexican.
My poor husband had dental surgery this week, and I've been brainstorming soft food. He's up to his ears in applesauce, so when I said "Tamale" his eyes lit up.

If a name means anything, than that's gotta be the one :)

A quick search resulted in these threads. There are others in the same search results that are more dated, but might be worth a look.

But get there early because they run out, especially of the rajas con queso. Plus the tamale guy has been hanging around Edgewater Produce lately.

Check out some of the threads provided above. I believe there's a tamale place in North Riverside that is mentioned.

I've seen signs for weekend tamales at Mexican grocery stores on Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, right across from Oak Park.
