Rehearsal Dinner Southwest Suburbs

Any suggestion's? About 65 people, looking for something moderately priced, I have no clue about the SW burbs, I'm from up north. Saw Krapils & Bartolini's, looks promising. Wouldn't mind something a little unique, not really into banquet halls. Any chance someone who's from the SW burbs could post on The suburbs are not a culinary wasteland thread? It doesn't seem there are too many SW restaurant's listed on LTH, or I'm not searching properly.

Could look into Cooper's Hawk, they have private rooms for that sized group and it is pretty unique for the SW 'burbs. I believe there are a few reviews of their food on here as well you can search for.

Gatto's on 80th Ave in Tinley would take very good care of you. Great family style. Nice sized back room.

How about GNR Chuck's Southern Comfort Cafe? The food there is great...especially the Mexican and Cajun themed dishes, and taking care of a large group is a piece of cake for Chuck.

Krapil's may be on the expensive side, if you're leaning that way I would probably choose Jack Gibbons instead
Bartolini's is pretty good, Ive never eaten there but I've used them for catering
Beggars in Oak Forest does a family style that is pretty good and they have a private room
Flossmoor Station Brewery has a banquet menu but no private room unless you can use the patio
Louisa's in Crestwood has a private room, they have a pizza that is a little different you can probably find a review
you could go really casual and have it at Hog Wild in Midlothian, great pork chops not sure if they serve liquor

Great thin crust pizza and homemade Italian dishes, prices decent, great service and decent sized area for 65 people.

Sam Buca's has some space, nice interior, great food and is located right on Harlem. I saw the Stanley Cup awhile back on the roof top was cool. Worth a look.

Was at Jack Gibbons about a month ago, loved the old school charm, I imagine the friendly efficient staff does a very good job with private parties.

Flossmoor Station will do a private party in their back room, and should hold your party comfortably. We had a private party back there for my father's 75th birthday a few years back, and I've seen them use it for other private events. I would give them a call.

I would also strongly recommend Chuck's. He catered our oldest daughter's wedding last spring -- and did a phenomenal job. Chuck's has a private party room and will work with you to find a menu that suits your budget.

Gatto's is also a good suggestion. We go there frequently when we are in the mood for Italian food. Someone once told me that the owners are related to whoever owns Vernon Park Tap in Chicago. The menu is certainly similar.

Another place to consider is Peotone Bierstube, althought that may be a bit too far. I go there any chance I get. I was there for a wedding reception years ago and they did an excellent job.

Last year my wife and I hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at Gatto's in Tinley. The room, food and friendly staff all contributed to a wonderful evening.

As a close second I would check out Chucks in Burbank.

Gatto's and Bartolini's are great places.
Another option is Chef Klaus on LaGrange across from Lincoln Way East.
Aurelio's in Homewood will also do a good job. Grady's Grill in Homewood has a nice back room.

Thank you all for your suggestions! My son & fiancee are getting married next summer at Midlothian Country Club. We plan to be staying in the area and we will probably be busing guests from the hotel to rehearsal dinner. Look's like I've got some research ahead of me.

Even though this list is heavy on the Italian, I'd also recommend Capri in Palos Heights.

The rehearsal dinner was fantastic....we had 65 people at Capri Restaurant in Palos Heights, they did a remarkable job, from room set-up, to the extraordinary waitresses and bartender. The menu was served family style, Fried Calamari, Ceasar salad, Rigatoni w/Marinara, Chicken Ala Capri (Chicken Vesuvio w/garlic potatoes, oh my lord they were good!), the pasta and chicken were served PIPING HOT! We finished with Italian ice and tiramisu. If anyone is looking for a banquet venue in the south burb's my family highly recommends Capri, the room and restaurant are how should I put this....old school Italian ( the decor is outdated but at night with the light's dimmed it really didn't look so bad). The drink's were great the food was great but the best part was joining the families together and Capri handled the night beautifully.
