Hey! It's the big "2-Oh" 20th dessert exchange--that's gotta be auspicious, right? Bring your Spring-iest homemade desserts to taste, share and chat about to my place in Skokie/Evanston, midway between the Skokie Swift and the Metra&El stops at Dempster.
Here are the basics on the exchange:
    1) I’ll serve a vegetarian lunch, followed by the dessert tasting
    2) Bring one recipe size of any dessert – no doubling or tripling of recipes necessary. Feel free to make whatever you like. (But just an FYI: some participants are vegetarians and/or don't drink alcohol, so just advise if your dessert includes those ingredients)
    3) Bring one large, (or several small) container(s) to transport dessert swap-o-rama home
    4) Come hungry
    Looking forward to seeing you,
    Monica Kass Rogers

Thanks for hosting. I think I will make a fruit based dessert. Combination of fresh and dried fruits. With some wickedness thrown in, haven't decided what that may be yet. izzy

I feel like an ass for asking about this so often now that I realize I can't make this date. So sorry!

I hope to see you all at the next one.

Can Sue F join you folks? She's likely to bring something chocolate, but I can't say for sure.

This is prime time for graduations and confirmations. I'm assuming that's the reason for the low turnout.

i'm afraid i'm going to lower the turnout even more. i'm posting and cancelling for izzy who is miserable with a sore throat/ bronchitis thing. she is returning from the doctor as i write this. and i've some family thing i need to take care of for my dad. i'm terribly sorry for the short notice. it is certainly no reflection on the dessert exchanges, which i always enjoy, or on mkrogers, who i was lookiing forward to meeting (monica, i just read your article in chicago 'edible' magazine and really enjoyed it). justjoan

Looking forward to seeing whomever can make it, and hoping this gorgeous sunshine-y-ness hangs on through the weekend to brighten our gathering. If any of the rest of you want to bring a "plus-one" let me know--I'll do a final attendance count tomorrow morning before heading out for the veggie-lunch ingredients. If we're a small and intimate gathering this go-around, so be it.
    Happy Friday!

Thank you to Monica for an incredible afternoon. The meal was scrumptious, the conversation was light and the atmosphere most relaxing. A few photos of the afternoon can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/msingie/sets/72157626786725180/

...thanks everybody--yesterday's gathering was great fun. I've been on deadline--I'll send one or additional two photos soon. Bummed now that I didn't get in food-photo mindset to shoot stuff plated individually...ah, well...another time. Enjoy the perfect day,
