Help Me Eat this Weekend

This weekend we are going to the National Vietnam Art Museum at 1801 S. Indiana with Mr. Pie's family. We will be eating afterwards, but I don't know much about this area.

There will be between 10 and 13 of us, ages ranging from 9 to 76.

There are some of us who will eat anything, but the youngest is particularly picky. Some lean towards general "American" food, which can include Chinese, Mexican, etc. but more Americanized than authentic versions. (IE something like Nuevo Leon would be fine but La Casa de Samuel probably would not.)

We will be coming from all directions in 3-5 different vehicles, and the older folks can't walk too far, so recommendations will have to be less than a 1/2 mile from the museum or within a short drive but with plenty of parking.

Also, mid-range prices and quiet enough so that we'll be able to hold a conversation.

Any ideas?

You're close to Chinatown (a very quick drive and plenty of parking...)

Agree about Chinatown, which is really close. Or, if you are going Saturday, you could take the short drive over to Manny's, which has a parking lot, although I can't guarantee quiet.

I second Manny's. Have been there on a few Saturdays - it has not been crowded and between street parking and the parking lot you should meet the older folks walking requirements. You can check the menu by looking online or calling.

Kroll's South Loop - 18th & Michigan (Sports Bar & Grill)

La Cantina Grill - 19th & Michigan (Americanized Mexican)

Cafe Bionda - 19th & State (Italian)

South Coast Sushi - 17th & Michigan (Dinner only)

Looks like I was usurped on suggesting Chinatown. So suggestions on places there that would take a large group would be appreciated.

A qualified suggestion of Pearl's Place, about two miles from where you will be. Qualified only in the fact I have not been in over a year. There is both table service and buffet, comfortable seating, conversation friendly and plenty of free parking. Pearl's is known for strong soul food classics, fried chicken, catfish, greens and peach cobbler.
