I was going to meet some out of town friends for a drink/snack before getting on the architectural boat tour this Friday. I called Cyranos to get the number of their outlet on the river, but when I called, there was no answer.
Any ideas where we could go for a glass of wine and a snack near where the boat leaves? We will be coming from 2 different directions and thought we could meet someplace nearby.
    Thanks in advance.

Sable is near by. They have excellent cocktails, and I've heard their food is good too though I haven't tried it.

My recollection is that it leaves from Wacker & Michigan, in which case I'd head to The Purple Pig.

Assuming that Diane is talking about the CAF river tour, chgeditor is right; it leaves from the river at Michigan and Wacker, the SouthEast corner.

ENO, the wine bar in the Intercontinental, on Michigan Ave. just north of Wacker.

Thanks for the suggestions-the boat leaves from Michigan and Wacker and I think we'll try the Purple Pig.

if PP is too crowded, Eno really is a nice spot to grab a drink (nice wine selection) and a bite.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Thank goodness the sun is out, going on that boat tour in the shade/rain/mist that we've been having would have been miserable.
