    Hey folks,

Long time LTHForum visit, first time poster!

I'm looking to do a nice birthday dinner and drinks afterwards the first weekend of June. Any suggestions? I know this is super vague question but am open to your suggestions.

Some criteria I can add to help with suggestions
-8 to 10 people for dinner, open number for drinks afterwards
    -Dinner pricing $30-$50/person
-I can eat anything and everything (No allergies, open to try any food)
-Want to start in the downtown area

    Hi Wheaty -

Yes, it is very vague :) So help us out, are you looking for that price range with or without alcohol/tip/tax?

Fun, loud, laughs, or intimate conversations over good wine? Do you want to have drinks elsewhere or there? Do you have vegans/ allergies/ kids/ elderly in your group?

    Haha good questions!

I'm looking for that price range without alcohol but includes tip and tax. Looking for a nice place to eat where dressing up a little bit is suggested. Drinks would be elsewhere close by. Same criteria for attire at the bar, maybe a nice laid back lounge?

Assume no vegans, no kids, and no elderlies in the group, most of us will be in our 20-30s.

    Hope this helps!

I would say Sable for either dinner or drinks (or both).

A couple of places I have liked that may meet your criteria:

    Sunda
    Piccolo Sogno
    Avec
    Socca- in Wrigleyville though
    West Town Tavern

Also think the Sable suggestion is very solid.

    Hey all,

Have a more refined idea of what I want for this now. Will be on June 4th around 7:30 PM (I know super tough time but let's see what happens.)

I have about 25-30 people planning on attending. Thinking of sticking to one place for food and drinks in the Lincoln Park area. I was planning on hitting up Cafe Baba Reeba but I just called the place is booked already :(

    Any suggestions?

How about Pequod's? They have a good space upstairs for big groups that you might be able to reserve.

Landmark on Halsted has some great spaces and some good food to boot.

I threw a party there a few years back around the holiday season and they worked with me to give me what I wanted at a decent price.

Their room sort of looks like a souk -- very Moroccan -- very fun and cool.

They definitely have capacity for your party.
