    Hello Folks:

Long time viewer here ...have gotten a lot of good information and largely have enjoyed the discourse here...

With the recent start of the Ravinia season, was wondering what would be some of the current favorite dining
options within a 4-5 mile (?) radius of the park... Have done a search (good buddy of mine) for some recent postings, but if missing
    something, apologies are rendered...

During a recent visit, went about 30-45 minutes early to check out some known spots on Skokie Blvd, however the construction
on Lake-Cook did change the timing for that... (hope that information might also help someone)... In any event, would like
to plan ahead and be prepared for the next time.. Dine in and carryout are all cosiderations ! Thanks !

We almost always picnic in the park on the lawn - if you have lawn tickets getting there early is pretty key if you don't want to be sitting on the pathways or all the way out by Ravinia station (not Ravinia Park station).

I like Abigail's Bistro. It is quaint, contemporary, affordable and tasty. It is located very close to Ravinia. They don't take reservations, so show up early as there is usually a waiting list.

Abigail's Bistro has an outstanding burger and fries. I only had it once, but I still remember how good it was.

A great picnic option is Bob's Pantry and Deli on St. John's near Lake-Cook Rd across from the Braeside Metra stop (only 1 minute east of Green Bay Rd). Bob has great deli sandwiches, and even Buffo's (of Highwood) pizza that he can cook on his conveyor belt oven. He recently switched to Dietz and Watson meats for the deli. He also has ice cream, shakes, etc. There are many tables if you want to eat in there or take it to the park. It's a convenience store first, so if you need drinks, beer, batteries, whatever, he's got it.

http://nortons-restaurant.com/ - great burgers. No need to move your car after dinner. Just walk a 1/2 block west and take the free shuttle bus to/from Ravinia.
