There are so few pie shops that you can sit comfortably and have a slice. This really sticks in my craw. Therefore, I'm rebooting the Plethora of Pie event with a badass south side twist and some good chow to match. I'd like to meet at 12 noon on Sunday, August 7th, in honor of
Braham Pie Day.
If I can manage it, I will try to get a hold of a Supreme Bean Pie. I think this would be best divvied up and taken home since we'll have plenty to eat on this trip. Perhaps everyone can bring a bit of tupperware?
1st StopCafé Trinidad for a light lunch and peach cobbler.
557 E. 75th Street
2nd StopMedici on 57th for pie and coffee.
(Pies available: Vaguely Reminiscent, Pecan, Apple)1327 E. 57th Street
3rd StopMiss Lee's Good Food for pie and possibly some soul food.
(Pies available: Lemon Ice Box, Buttermilk, Sweet Potato and Peach, Apple, and Sweet Potato Cobbler.)203 E Garfield Blvd.
If we still have any energy, we can head over to Village Foods at 1521 E. Hyde Park Blvd (after the 2nd or 3rd stops) for a bean pie.
Those interested, please let me know and I'll add your name to the list!

I want to have a good body, but not as much as I want dessert. ~ Jason Love
There is no pie in
Nighthawks, which is why it's such a desolate image. ~ Happy Stomach
