Heading off to Milwaukee next weekend (tragically, this is likely to be the closet I get to a summer vacation this year). Don't have much of a budget, so was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for some wallet-friendly meals there. There aren't many cuisines that I dislike, but would ideally like to try something fairly specific to the city/state. If this isn't possible, plain good food will suffice.

Also, totally off the topic of food, but if anyone has any good ideas for a fairly cheap place to stay there I'd be all ears. As you probably tell, it's a pretty last-minute trip.

    Thanks much.

Personally, when we have a trip to Milwaukee, we generally stay at the Sheraton Brookfield which we get through Priceline at about $35 +tax/fees. For the skinny on how Priceline works, see http://www.biddingfortravel.com and read the FAQs of that website for more information.

Can't help you too much on the food except that Milwaukee is FREQUENTLY discussed on this website AND this forum has a good search function.
