Edited: Date changed to Sunday, August 21.

Hi everyone! I will be hosting the next dessert exchange in my Logan Square apartment. We will meet Sunday, August 21, at 5:00. We are close to the California Blue Line stop and very close to 90/94, and have room for about 10 people.

No theme, or anything, but I'm hoping for lots of good fruit desserts given the time of year!

Here are the basics on the exchange:
    1) I’ll serve a light vegetarian dinner, followed by the dessert tasting.
    2) Bring one recipe size of any dessert – no doubling or tripling of recipes necessary. Feel free to make whatever you like. (But just an FYI: some participants are vegetarians and/or don't drink alcohol, so just advise if your dessert includes those ingredients)
    3) Bring one large, (or several small) container(s) to transport dessert swap-o-rama home
    4) Come hungry

    Hope to see you there!

    Attendees
    LauraS
    justjoan
    Cathy2 - bean pie
Pie Lady - caramel banana cream pie
Ms. Ingie +1 - Rote Grutze, German red fruit pudding

I think with the Plethora of Pie that morning I will be sugared out. But save the photos for me for next time.

    Laura,

I think you should consider another date. I forgot about Pie Lady's event already planned for sometime. I already committed to attending, too.

I personally cannot make 14th, though I am available the other two Sundays. Don't plan around me.

    Sorry about this!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Oops, I missed that Plethora of Pie is the 7th. Let's change the date to the 21st of August, still at 5:00. And I would love to show some honeymoon photos! :) I'm hoping to put some of the food ones online sometime soon.

I'd like to come. I will decide on a dessert as we get closer to the date. I'm sure it will be something featuring fruit.

I'm making a Caramel Banana Cream Pie with an undetermined crust. Chocolate or nuts might possibly be involved.

That sounds devine, and a chocolate crust sounds like just the ticket.

I just has a thought, we should probably have an all pie dessert exchange at some point.

An all-pie exchange would be awesome, although I will admit that my pie crusts are definitely hit or miss. Can't decide what I'm making yet. Maybe some kind of tarte tatin or upside down cake with plums or apricots?

I vote for apricot upside down cake, or better yet, a mix of plums and apricot. As far as your pie crust goes, make a pie in a graham cracker crust!
