For lunch yesterday, I found myself stuck with two boiled eggs, a box of arugula, and a complete lack of enthusiasm over my sad lunch. So I started digging in the fridge & cabinets in our office kitchen, and came up with mayo, olive oil, vinegar, shredded parmesan, paprika, salt, pepper, Grey Poupon, Tapatío, and pretzels. I felt quite quite proud of my creation:

I hesitate to eat anything from my office fridge - good work with yours!

I could never do that at my place of employment. Poaching food that you didn't bring in yourself is theft at my office. Then again, I don't even know 70% of the people that work on my floor. That's what happens when you work for a company of 20,000+. Did you whip up those deviled eggs on the fly at the office? They look good.

Fortunately, the boiled eggs & arugula were mine, and condiments are all fair game in my office...I might help myself to someone's Grey Poupon, but he could be right there next to me helping himself to my Tapatío. Someone else brought in the olive oil & vinegar this time, but I brought it in last time, the spices just kind of appear (once a month, someone will cook lunch for the office, so a lot of spices are brought in for one-time use, and then gather dust in the spice cabinet), I bought the cheese a while back on the corporate card (so it's fair game) for an office lunch, and our office manager keeps large jars stocked with snacky stuff for us, including pretzels. This is the sort of thing that happens when you work for a company of 50, and an office of 15 :)

I did make those deviled eggs right there in the office kitchen...thanks for the compliment, I was very happy with how they came out :)

I immediately thought of this thread when I opened the office fridge this morning and found this . . .

I don't know exactly what I'd do with these but at least there's plenty of inventory for experimentation. :D

For your experimentation - those are boxes of natto on top...?

Natto and American cheese, together in one dish. Just the thought of that is enough to cause nightmares.

Natto Kraft Singles sounds exactly like one of those those r&d experiments you hear about where they're trying to find a way to penetrate markets that haven't yet bought in to the glamour of processed American food.
Why aren't we making any inroads in Asia with our product line? I've got it: Natto Hot Pockets! Honey Bunches of Natto!! Absolut-Natto!!!
