I felt like cheese-stuffed, battered and fried flor de calabaza, but I didn't come across any in a few stops. Instead, I got a large can of blossoms at Jimenez Carniceria (Fullerton near Pulaski).
Here they are, drained, battered (egg-based) and fried, with grated Chihuahua cheese and Fiesta's very good ensalada de nopales (cactus salad).
