Its pretty much a desert out here--any place anyone can think of ? There is the Polish Deli on Algonquin, Ive heard they have good food. I dont think it needs to be kosher...thanks.

Kaufman's delivers, and they do a nice job of it, too.

Post #3 - September 8th, 2011, 7:04 pmWe ordered from Kaufman's this summer, and it was very good -- and the quantities were huge -- Jewish mother quantities. (The one thing that was not so good was the chopped liver -- we wondered if we had gotten calves liver instead of chicken liver somehow.)

Post #4 - September 8th, 2011, 7:40 pmOnce upon a Bagel in Highland Park and Once Upon a Grill in Northbrook also do trays. Both are good (the salads (tuna, chicken, egg white) are both restaurants strong suit) and they are cheaper then Kaufman's fwiw.

Post #5 - September 9th, 2011, 1:07 pmKaufman's is excellent, but there is a very good deli in Buffalo Grove that might deliver to Algonquin based on the size of the order. We get corned beef, rye bread, bagels, etc. from them often. However, we haven't tried the lox and other fish. You may want to give them a call.

Post #6 - September 9th, 2011, 4:25 pmIf it turns out you do need a kosher shiva tray the following places are kosher and do a nice job - Bagel Country, Hungarian Kosher Foods in Skokie, the Kosher Deli at the Jewel on Howard in Evanston, the Jewel on Deerfield in Highland Park or Kosher Korner in the Garden Fresh Market on Skokie Blvd in Northbrook -
