    Beethoven "Waldstein" sonata; various perfs.

Otherwise been in a sort of nostalgic folky, rootsy mood. Hence: old Steve Goodman, new Levon Helm, Norman Blake, and Loudon Wainwright's Charlie Poole album.

And the re-formatted, 2-disc "Ellington at Newport" which restores lots of music dropped from the orig. release, as well as the proper track order and has terrific, detailed notes included.

Lately all White Sox or WSP all the time.

    In the cd player now:

    6/26/2011 Red Rocks, CO. - 1st Set

    WOndering > SUrprise Valley > C. Brown

In Surprise Valley Jimmy's guitar caught my ear immediatly. Great sustain, tone and daydream inducing exploration.

Psyched about the upcoming Fall tour:

seeing the boys 10/22 in Milwaukee, 10/29 in CHicago...

And the highlight..... Halloween night @ the Aragon Brawlroom in Chicago. :D

Not the Dixie Chicks, although I like (daddy) Lloyd Maines' steel work on lots of other stuff.

Right now listening to stuff by the Drive By Truckers; and, just finished a marathon listening session of Ramones. Anybody hearing "Touring" has to think of the Beach Boys on steroids.

I've been listening to Miles for about ten years now, taking my time, album by album (in no chronological order). I love the 70s stuff.

This is the best live album I've heard from him (barely edges out Live Evil, haven't invested in the complete Plugged Nickel yet).

I'd be down for doing some turntable with you &/or other LTHers sometime. Nobody in the room when I checked this morning but I'll check back periodically. I dig turntable.fm, though it is a productivity killer for me sometimes.

In the meantime, I am listening to this gloriousness that I found awaiting me upon my return home from Toons Porkapalooza on Saturday:
