Chia seeds, plucked from a Central American plant called Salvia hispanica, contain omega-3 fatty acids, more dietary fiber than flaxseed, more antioxidants than blueberries and are a good source of calcium, according to one study....

    Who knew? "Ch-ch-ch-chia!"

    Hi,

I had one of those back in the early 70's. I think they were suggesting you could harvest from them, but I wasn't especially interested.

My mom just got a huge jar of chia seeds from her hippie sister, so I'm interested in any recipes. We are trying this chia pudding:

... sounds delish, but it's based on full-fat coconut milk. Anyone got chia recipes to share? Also can someone help me get the ch-ch-ch-chia jingle out of my h-h-h-head?

    Thx, Jen

Evidence that this may be the Year of the Chia Seed: Pain Quotidienne always has chia seed muffins until they sell out. I don't recall seeing them anywhere around here before PQ came to town. (But I probably wasn't looking that hard.)
