DC Sarnies gets a bunch of LTH Love here - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=31868&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=dc+sarnies

Two months in a row of dodging the law while dining in Highland Park has prompted LTH North to dine in an area that's a bit more secure. 8)

If the weather cooperates, we'll dine on the patio. Please join us - bring a friend.

    DC Sarnies Restaurant
649 W. Lake Cook Rd - aim for Home Depot. The restaurant is along the outer perimeter.
    Deerfield, IL 60015

Note - there's still construction along Lake Cook Rd. Allow extra driving time.

I am in. Glad I wont have to camouflage my car. Do we have anyone from Deerfield to deal with the authorities if Mousse has too much beer?

    Thanks, Will

I know a couple of Deerfield cops in case you and Matt make trouble.

If any of you will be driving on Waukegan Road to get to DC Sarnies, watch your speed very carefully, or you may be surprised at how quickly you meet a Deerfield police officer.

    Hi,

I will be there, plus my friend Helen.

In too many years, I have only been stopped once by the Deerfield Police. It was a warning for a burned out light. Yet, I avoid Deerfield when I think I have another technical malfunction.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

They are particularly vigilant near the high school when it's in session. I've only been stopped once, but I see them there a lot.

I'm in (and I didn't even look at the beer list yet)! I've been wanting to try DC Sarnies for a while, based on the reviews noted above....
Dave, I think you must have already done my background check, since I was allowed to attend last month's lunch--and even park my car in HP!

PS. Where exactly is this construction on Lake-Cook--for those of us traveling from the far south?

You will be impacted from Waukegan Road going west. Fortunately much less than a mile. You will turn into the Home Depot parking lot, which is the first traffic light after the viaduct.

If you're coming in from the west - construction starts at Wilmot.

Maybe the LTH North Group should start issuing membership cards!

membership cards are too elitist, and the 30 page questionnaire required by the Evanston group is very intimidating. Much simpler to just run a background check, and update it monthly. Sadly, Mel may not be able to pass due to his questionable upbringing (at least according to my wife, who has a long history with the Hill clan).

    LMAO! Too funny.

I am excited to get back to DC Sarnies. As close as it is to my house, I've only been once, and that was already several weeks ago. It'll be fun with a larger group to explore more of the menu.

    HI,

I am looking forward to tomorrow.

I was there on Saturday. I suggest not ordering anything with a biscuit without asking a bunch of questions. I ordered a fried chicken biscuit on Saturday. Biscuit may as well been a relic of Civil War hard tack. It did not even absorb the gravy.

    The Moms burgers were terrific.

    Cathy2

Good food and company at lunch today. Mel's not such a bad guy. :D

I'm sure Ron and Mel's photos will be forthcoming. Very interesting post-eating conversation at the table - details of which are not suitable for posting on LTH. 8)

I'm going to beat ELG's record posting for next month's lunch. 8)
