Tell me which bar in Chicago you think has the best clientele, and what makes them the best for you. (Note: I'm not necessarily using the word "best" to sub for "richest," but you can!)

    What a diabolical question...

I actually haven't had a ton of luck "making friends" with other patrons at my favorite bars. That said, The Whistler is probably where you're most likely to run into your favorite bartender on their night off, so maybe that's the answer...

Nearly every bar early on a weeknight and almost no bar after 9 pm on a weekend.

I'd say no club on a weekend after 9pm but a local shot and beer joint, the kind that doesn't serve food and everyone knows everyone, can be a great place to spend a Friday or Saturday night. That's why I don't do clubs or upscale places Fri/Sat.

ETA - not to drink at least (and when I say drink, I mean DRINK, not have a cocktail).

What sort of vibe are you looking for? The best club clientele or the best neighborhood bar clientele or the best hip cocktail bar clientele?

I frequent the Chipp Inn and the Whistler, but those places are light-years apart in clientele.
