    Anyone have any tips?

I had a bit of an incident when i was cleaning up after deep frying and spilled peanut oil on my metal stairs in the back (it wasn't hot, FWIW). The worst part is that I am on the 3rd floor of our condo building so after trying to wash with Dawn and water, it has dripped down to the other 2 floors and it's affecting my neighbors.

I think my next step is to find some heavy duty/industrial degreaser, but I was just checking to see if anyone had any experience.

    Thanks in advance.

If they are exterior stairs use Simple Green and a scrub brush then hose it down. Interior stairs use Simple Green and terry cloth towels. After spraying the Simple Green let it sit for a few minutes to work its magic.

Thanks for the tips so far.

    They are exterior stairs, BTW.

    HI,

The strongest degreaser I have at home is 'Challenger PC-737.'

It is not cheap, I bought a gallon from the paint store for $17.90. You can learn who may have it retail through:

If you use it, I'd do a spot test first. Very likely diluted will work best. It cleans surfaces I had been going over a long time with no effort.

How about renting a power washer?

This worked. Actually, I bought Oil-Dri at Menards for less than $4 for a 25lb bag. I let it soak the oil up over night and swept it up last night. Looked pretty good, although it was pretty dark by the time I got done. We'll see how it looks after this rain drys.

Glad to hear it! It's always so amazing when you just let it soak in and then sweep it up. It can even get suck oil stains out of concrete in some cases.
