Hi- I have recently begun buying Greenridge Farm chicken sausage. The sausage is good, and it is lowfat. The company is located in Elk Grove Village, but I was wondering if anybody has any idea where they source their meat. Their website notes that they use all natural ingredients in their sausage, and that their processing facility is very sanitary, and they say their meat is carefully selec5ted. I was wondering if anybody knows if they use factory farmed chicken though? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Nancy

Given the market value of "organic" or even "free range" if their product contained it then they'd mention it. Assume it's a low-cost chicken. "Natural ingredients" is fairly broad:

"The USDA has a legal definition for "natural", but it applies only to meat and poultry; "those products carrying the “natural” claim must not contain any artificial flavoring, color ingredients, chemical preservatives, or artificial or synthetic ingredients, and are only “minimally processed” defined by USDA as a process that does not fundamentally alter the raw product.""

Hi- I kind of assumed that it was not free range chicken, but I was hoping. I can get it at Dominick's right now thanks to their J4U program for $2.25 a package, and they never have their free range that cheap. Thanks, Nancy
