At yesterday's LTH North event we decided to re-visit Silk Mandarin in Vernon Hills next month. You can read about our April visit here - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31339&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=silk+mandarin+lth+north

In addition, there was talk about getting Peking Duck. Based on our RSVP head count, I'll call ahead. Come join us. Bring a friend.

    HI,

    Helen and I will attend.

I'm glad you're willing to go again. I was pea green I couldn't make it the first time.

    Regards,

Put me down as very likely to attend. Unless something comes up at the office, I'll be there.

Sad to say that I'm out. I already have a lunch meeting that day. Maybe next time.

I'd love to join you. That last meal was memorable and I'd love to make a return visit.

Please put me down as a tentative yes for the 26th. I won't know for sure if I can attend until I see how my work schedule for that week shakes out, if that is OK. Thanks.

This is only a mile from my home and my wife doesn't really like the more authentic dishes, so I'm really unhappy to miss this. This is my week to be in Kansas City. Good eating.

Dang! I'm sorry I missed this. I got caught up in something and before I knew it, it was 1:00. I particularly wanted to experience the Peking duck service for the first time. Did you end up getting the duck?

I'm also curious about attendees' impressions of the quality of the food. I've talked Silk Mandarin up in the past, on line and off, but the last time we got carry-out from there, I was disappointed. Maybe it was just an off night for them.

Just woke up from my food coma induced nap. 8) Another stellar meal at Silk Mandarin.

We had our duck expertly carved table-side and it was quite tasty. We ordered a boatload load of other food, including the Pot O’ Fish. All were good and we left all of the serving plates clean as a whistle.

Good food and company - the prerequisite of LTH North Lunch Group. Until next month....EC

    Splendid lunch in good company.

That pork with garlic is amazing. Love the jellyfish salad. Great noodles. Delighted to get to try that pea-shoot dish (they were out last time we were there) -- worth the wait. Duck was great. Chicken wings, fried sweet potato, those green beans with garlic and chili -- all, just wonderful.

I have to get up there more often.

Though, of course, it's more fun with a bunch of LTHers.

Thanks again, Dave, for making the arrangements.
