It was just a curious statement and a stance that I never would imagine existed, but I can understand it now that you've explained it.

Back on topic... I'd take the spicy chicken biscuit over any other fast food breakfast item. Plus, when I go through the drive thru with my dog, they give him a treat, so we're both happy!

Chick-fil-A will soon open at the former site of a Hooters restaurant on Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake, bringing animated cows urging residents to “Eat Mor Chikin” to the hub of McHenry County.

Region's first Chick-fil-A to open this summer in Hobart,Indiana
HOBART | Plans are in place to open the area's first Chick-fil-A sometime this summer, a restaurant spokesman said.

The new 4,500-square-foot restaurant will occupy the U.S. 30 property formerly occupied by Uno Chicago Grill, Jason D. Hill said.

The thing I loved most about that ad campaign is that the original Chick-Fil-A in Hapeville, GA [near the ATL airport] serves burgers [the place feels and looks like a Waffle House].

I've had the spicy chicken sandwich a couple times now, and like it [as another Emory grad, I love Chick-Fil-A]. And I love the chicken biscuits. But I've yet to try a spicy chicken biscuit.

I just had a spicy chicken biscuit (for the first time) and a regular chicken biscuit today. I am not sure I'm in the mood for spicy food in the morning and I just didn't like the spicy chicken biscuit enough to order it again. I still think the regular chicken biscuit is the best thing they have on the menu.

I hate to start up another eight pages of discussion on the #EatMorChikin tour, but they have arrived...

    Image Image Image
...starting Thursday morning chicken biscuits for all of Chi

I got to take a look inside (and Eat Mor Chikin) and I was already a fan as far as corporate fast food goes. On the 'backstage' tour they showed how it all goes down, including how each fresh chicken breast for each biscuit/sandwich is hand breaded in their original seasoning and then deep fried in their compression cookers. Chik-Fil-A is the nations #1 purchaser of peanut oil. Nothing is fake here, nice small menu, they are a very well run business aside from the church crap. Every lemon is hand squeezed making their lemonade pretty good, they had boxes of flour for their fresh made biscuits etc. As far as fast food goes this is as legit as it gets. Great? maybe not but I love their original sandwiches and the chicken biscuits are the best item of any big time fast food place out there. I'll get by now and then.

Glad to hear they opened, now i can finally use my 1 free chicken sandwich voucher i got at the drive in, because my wait was too long (approx. 3 minutes). I did not complain or anything, the management took it upon themselves to issue the vouchers to the customers because they thought a few minutes was not fast enough for fast food. Service is always great... I've had the damn voucher for about a year, because every time i think of using it, I'm on my way out of Indianapolis on a Sunday and of course they're closed.

The Chick Fil A at Wabash and Chicago opens June 16, 2011 in the morning. I have a mild interest in taking the Red Line home after work tonight to see how many people are lined up to be the "First 100." No tents allowed.

I don't know why people camp out for that first 100 anymore. They have a raffle if there are more than 100 people in line now so you might as well show up right at the end of the waiting period.

At least in this case, it says (PDF link) that if there are over 100 people in line tonight (no particular time is mentioned as to when this determination will be made), the raffle will be held, and that those who "win" are required to stay overnight in order to keep their place in line.

They've been roaming the North Michigan Avenue area recently with free sandwich giveaways. When they were in front of the Hancock last week, there was pretty much a stampede from our office, even though most people already had lunch. I couldn't get out, but a coworker was nice enough to grab me a sandwich. It was my first exposure to Chick-Fil-A and I have to say it was pretty good. Having a restaurant a few blocks away won't be a bad thing.

Still no information about whether or not the Elston location will ever materialize? Initially they said it was supposed to be complete by now, but doesn't look like anything is going on.

Chick-fil-a (at least used to) play only christian music, hand out christian pamphlets, and give christian learning materials in the kids meals. Within their rights? I don't know, probably, but i see how it could offend some people. However, I think the hard feelings have more to do with their alleged stance against gay marriage. If we want to continue this topic, we should probably have these posts moved to a new forum, since it's not food related.

We visited a Chick-Fil-A in Texarkana, and were amazed at the number of Mennonites and other conservative Christian groups eating there. I suppose they all give their business to CFA to support their values, as people do. But it was certainly an odd feeling walking in, only to have thirty pairs of eyes turn upon us, with an eerie silence followed by shocked whispers....Any time I'm feeling too middle-aged and normal, I just have to go to Texas and bam, all better.

I think peach season is over with, but when you get a chance, try the peach milkshake. It was truly one of the best shakes I have had, ever, not just from a fast food joint.

Hi- I was out in Schaumburg yesterday, looking for a place to eat lunch, and I ran across Chick-Fil-A, and I decided to try it for the first time. Even though it has been open for five weeks, the place was mobbed, and they had 2 Schaumburg policemen directing traffic there. I assume that the restaurant paid for this. and not the taxpayers of Schaumburg. This is not the easiest place to get to on Golf when you are heading West. There is no traffic light there, and I had to go to the next traffic light, and turn around. There was a long line for drive up, and I would have gone through it, but since I had never been to the place, I wanted to spend some time looking at the menu, and so I went inside. It took me a few minutes to find a parking place. The inside was huge for a fast food place, and there were lots of people eating there. It did not take me long to have my order taken though. It seemed like there were twice as many registers as there are in a typical McDonald's, and I like the fact that they ask for your name, and you wait for your name to be called when your order is ready, so the person at the register does not spend any time getting your order together, other than giving you your beverage. The service was fantastic, and it did not take very long for me to get my order considering how busy they were.

I took my order with me, and when I got to my appointed designation about ten minutes later, and opened up my bag, I could not believe how hot my chicken sandwich was. I had the basic chicken sandwich, and it was wonderful. It was much better than McDonald's. The cottage fries did not survive the trip as well, and they were good, but they were not great like the sandwich was. I would definitely not make a special trip from Evanston to Schaumburg just to get a chicken sandwich from them, but if I was in the neighborhood, I would definitely stop there again, although I do love the Swedish meatballs at Ikea, and Ikea's prices at their cafeteria can't be beat. I love Ikea's store in general.

Has anybody tried the chicken wrap or salad at Chick-Fil-A? Is it good? I loved their chicken sandwich, but I am looking for something healthier, which might be hard to find there.

They could have found a better place on Golf to locate their restaurant. If the two policemen were not their directing traffic, it would have taken me forever to get get back out on Golf after leaving the parking lot. Hope this helps, Nancy

I don't know if they are in papers and whatnot, but they often times give out coupons for a free sandwich, sometimes requiring purchase of fries and a drink. They will give these out for long wait times, donating a dollar to a charity they are supporting, or for other random promotions.

They sometimes do a blue receipt day where if your receipt is printed on blue paper, you can return at any time the following month and get your same exact order for free. Not sure how rare it is since I got one as well as the two people in front of me.

According to a friend of mine, the one on Chicago Ave next to Loyola's Water Tower campus gives food (and other things) away for free all the time. Not sure how you'd find out about that but I think that specific store has a twitter.

I never had the wrap and seldom the salad, but many days in college (in Atlanta) I had the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch, and I thought it was fine (granted, I was in college). I usually got it with honey mustard. Another reason I got that there is because I swear that mall and college locations always, from my experience, were inferior to the more typical standalone ones. I really have no idea why this is the case.

Made my first ever in-person visit to the Chick-Fil-A at Wabash and Chicago today. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and a chocolate shake. Not bad fast food. I was struck by the pleasantness of the two staff I interacted with. The clerk who took my order was very patient as I asked multiple questions and seemed sincerely upbeat.

The calendar ChicagoDave mentions is for sale for $6 and includes "over $25 in coupons." It looks like only one coupon a month, but I didn't get through the whole thing.
