    I have no idea how common these are, but I encountered kiwi berries for the first time yesterday. They were 50c for a half pint clamshell container at Stanley's Fruits & Vegetables on Elston, so I figured why not try them even though I had no idea what they are. It turns out they are almost exactly tiny kiwi fruits. They taste and look nearly the same on the inside. As a bonus, they have no fur or rough peel.

    They are in point of fact tiny kiwi fruits, and if you buy a male and female vine, you can grow them locally.

    Until going back and looking at the scientific name just now, I didn't realize just how closely related they were.
