Funny, I thought it looked pretty good, especially knowing it's being done at a grocery store.

It's all a matter of perspective. I respect your opinion, but if this meal is executed as well as I think it is going to be, I'll be far from bored! :D

At least we agree on our love of the CUBS!

I think what I meant came out wrong. I know the reason why things may seem "boring" is because alot of people do them (ie mango, avocado, crab) but I also realize if they are executed well, they work. I'm originally an artist so I guess I just love the creative side of things.....and yes, go cubs!

Time for me to chat up my favorite grocery story again (I swear I'm not affiliated with it in anyway except for being a customer). I had a enthusiastic and descriptive writeup for the last dinner/wine pairing that occurred at HyVee. However, I thought that I would just put it out there that they maxed the room's capacity at 50 people, and had to turn away about 20 more. The word is spreading in this area, and these HyVee dinners are gaining their own following. In the future I believe they are going to offer a couple seating's for each event. Anyway, this next dinner is with a Wine Blending Seminar. Barrel samples will be brought in from Dry Creek Winery. Everyone will be given the opportunity to blend their own wine. The blends will be judged, prizes given out, and you get to take your bottle of wine home with you. Sounds like fun to me!

This is one of their more expensive dinners, but you do get to go home with a bottle of your own wine! I'm still undecided if I will attend this event. If anyone wants to come to this dinner and needs a partner, PM me. I absolutely love having the opportunity to try different wines paired with specific food. I just didn't know what a transcending experience that could be! :D
