I've been to a few of these and they can be trouble. You'll see ppl loading vans with handtrucks and dollies full of cheesecakes. I am not kidding one bit, either. Good way to buy a few for bird day, and maybe a few for the freezer. The last time I went to one of these dock sales, I overbought, and overate. What killed me was the little 5 inch cheesecakes that they were peddling for a buck each. I bought a whole bunch of those, and then I consequently proceeded to EAT a whole bunch of those. I might be over my overload, and buy in moderation on Saturday. Thanks for the warning! (Might be a good excuse to find somewhere for lunch around there as well. A "Will Special" comes to mind from the bucket list...)
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

That does sound tasty! Minus the giardiniera.

    'Fraid so. Peppers are icky.

But as for Eli's, if anyone's planning to take advantage of the last day of the giveaway, I believe you're out of luck in regard to getting cheesecake. I was hoping the ad meant you get to pick a slice from the case, which I realize now was idiotic of me. But I received four prepackaged slices of banana cake, and brother, was I disappointed. I was hoping at least for the plain cheesecake. But since it just said "donation=free slice", I lucked out with getting four, I suppose. And I did have a slice for breakfast just now to see what it was like and if you like sweet desserts, this was a pretty nice cake. Though I suggest eating it closer to room temperature; the extreme coldness was distracting and the frosting would have been tastier softer. But overall, it was a decent cake.
