Anthem (the old Makisu, Fuel, etc..) on Division

Well, Anthem opened last week. I live in the hood and was excited as they had boarded up Makisu and I had read the folks from Bangers and Lace were opening something new. I had a glimmer of hope they would blaze out a unique concept that would add something to Division. However we have ended up with Anthem - just another sports bar.

I think it is safe to say it could be the new Boundary or the new 50/50. Same crowd - meatheads/frat boys (sorry to offend anyone) that graduated from Lincoln Park and now are in their late 30s. Plus the cougar in training crowd (some would say Pumas) who have not fully moved on to Viagra triangle just yet.

Big screens and loudness.

We had some of the food and I don’t think it will blow anyone’s mind. We did not however have their Juicy Lucy.

One positive is that they have a foosball table so I am assuming this alone will bring me back (bad college habit).

Kind of what I feared. At least I've got plenty of other options in the area/Blue line-accessible.

underwhelming.

The over-under is two months. I'll take the under. The location is cursed - it was home to some kind of coffee house before Makisu and Fuel.
