After a brief hold on the lead, Michelle has fallen back into second place by a whisker. If you haven't voted yet, or can vote again, now is the time to step up. The link is in Cathy's initial post, and it's easy to vote.

Let's support one of our own, folks. Go LTH!

This is getting to be a real tug of war!

Once again, Michelle is in second place, but only by a few votes. It seems you can vote once every 24 hours from the same computer. So, if it's been longer than that since the last time you voted, try again.

Apparently it has not yet ended - I think somebody at Saveur forgot to turn off the votes. I've also noticed that a few pies (some with semi-homemade overtones) have somehow withdrawn. Very interesting.

At any rate, what "winning" does get you is a definite review by the Saveur judges, so all this voting is not for nothing! More important, every vote felt like a pat on the back - so if nothing happens, you can say that you all brightened my week considerably! I feel as though I have won several times over!

Yes, I found that in Firefox under Preferences, Security if I went into my "cookies" I could find the one for Saveur named "voted xxxxx" (where xxxx is some number) and remove that cookie, and then vote again.

Upon checking the Saveur site today, I found that the pie contest has been taken down, and can only assume they are deliberating.

I am not sure whether or not I finally won the popular vote, last I checked I was still running neck and neck with one other pie - but it was quite clear that people had been busily voting on my behalf, I had over 800 votes!

Again, thanks to everyone who took the time to support my entry!

Pie update! After navigating around a little on the Saveur website, I am apparently 1 of 6 "editor's picks" pies that seem to be up for consideration. Also up for consideration is the Rosé-Poached Quince pie that I thought deserved more attention than it got.
    http://www.saveur.com/RecipeContest/winners.jsp?&page=6

Therefore, whether I win or not, my pie got enough attention to warrant review by the judges - so all your voting helped achieve the intended goal! Thank you again.

Maybe yes, maybe no. I'm inclined to think they're beyond that kind of influence and my guess is that your pie earned itself that review all by itself--on its own merits! And good luck--we're all rooting for you.

After having voted for Michelle's Cranberry Clementine Cloud Pie more times than I want to admit, my wife and I decided to try it to see if our votes were well-placed. They were. (We often vote on faith alone, but in politics the faith is often enough misplaced, not so with pastry). The pie has a delightful double tartness of citrus (clementine) and berry (cranberry), topped with an airy meringue. I thought that it was delightful with (in our version) to clementine curd at the bottom, and the cranberries at the top, covered by a crown of meringue. Note that it looks somewhat different from the image that Michelle posted, but that is how it is with recipes. It is hers and it is ours.

I hope that Michelle's pie receives the global recognition that it deserves. It is one of the best fruit pies I have ever eaten (for the record, my wife prefers pecan, so that is what we will make for New Years).

Well, the only pie I ever created from scratch all by myself was Spiced Mango Rum with Coconut Crust. This time I'm making it in a tart crust instead. I have no ideas for a name except maybe Superman-go Pie. My husband suggested making a double crust with steam holes cut out to look like a mask. I also had a friend suggest calling it Shalla-Bal's Cosmic Mango Rum Pie, because it's apparently the Silver Surfer's favorite dessert.
