Motivated by Dmnkly's recent post, I'd like to organize a dinner here with some old favorites and hopefully some off-menu items.
Update: I spoke with Su--she is looking forward to introducing us to some new dishes.

Anyone interested in dinner at P.S. Bangkok on 1/5/12 at 7?

Please add or waitlist me - thanks for organizing. The downstairs room is very nice if it's open and Su is willing to do that (but I've had parties of 20+ upstairs as well).

The restaurant could probably accommodate more than 20 but I think the food quality will be optimal with a more 'mid-size' group.

The wait list officially starts now.

I just spoke to Sue, and she said she would welcome a group of any size, even over 20 wouldn't be a problem.

This isn't my event, so I'll leave it there, but I just wanted to mention what she said.

Sue also had some concerns about what to cook, fearing certain things might he too strong or smell bad. I tried to assure her it would be a very adventurous group, eager to try any old standbys, as well as anything else interesting or different she would want to cook.

Please add me to the Waitlist.

Just wanted to bump this thread to remind everyone that this is coming up on Thursday. Please post if you are on the confirmed list and can't make it so we can move up people from the waitlist. Su's planning a few off-menu items--should be a great dinner.
    See everyone Thurs!

Thanks to thaiobsessed for organizing; we had a friendly party of 18 and at least a couple hit dishes (and condiments). A few of the dishes trended even sweeter than usual in my experience (something often caveated in the threads), but the sugar was cut by a gracious Su and some respectable heat in places, and recent Thai travel stories and cooking experiences were shared up and down the table.

I've been meaning to put something up all day! Thanks to thaiobsessed for organizing--it was a great turnout and, aside from a bit of a delay getting the check together at the end, the restaurant handled the large group very nicely.

I am not a huge fan of this style of thai (the sweet side) but I did find a few dishes that I really enjoyed--the grilled eggplant salad, the one bite appetizer (strangely LESS sweet than the only other one I've had at Spoon), the charcoal grilled beef salad and the crab rangoon were all very enjoyable. I doubt they can work into my rotation which is already so full of wonderful thai dishes but if I'm in the neighborhood or with others who would like to go, I now know what I like there and could order again.
