HELP! Christmas Eve restaurant...

We are having our family in town this year for Christmas, they are all staying at a hotel downtown, and want to go to a restaurant on Christmas Eve. Preferably somewhere with a decent beer selection, or BYOB, that takes reservations. We were hoping to go to Branch 27 but found out only the bar is open. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Two friends and I went to Mia Francesca on Clark St. in Wrigleyville last year, and had a lovely, cozy dinner. May I suggest that you give Francesca on Chesnut a call? They do take reservations, and Open Table indicates that they are open on Xmas eve. Should be equally cozy and festive, I would think.

I will 2nd the recommendation for a Francesca's location on Christmas Eve. Since we moved to Chicago 3 years ago, we have gone to Mia Francesca's on Bryn Mawr (Edgewater neighborhood) for Christmas Eve dinner. Very cozy, decent food, adequate service. Don't really visit their restaurants otherwise, but it does nicely for us on Christmas Eve.
