A friend whose genius is spotting double entendres* sent me this link:

I would *love* to know how that was found! I mean, how does one stumble on a "Ball Jammin" kit? I'm not Googling that!

Having a twisted sense of humor, I found this extremely amusing!

It was apparently a link in a perfectly ordinary article about online resources for home canning. My friend, who works for a news syndicate, said he found it interesting that Disney didn't catch it, but then he also recalled getting a press release from Disney for an ice-skating show: "Pooh on ice!"

For the canning story, he just managed to restrain himself from adding the following headline:
"Web sites show how to put fruits, vegetables up yourself."

Who knew there were such adventures to be found in preserving?

That is pretty good. They probably need someone like your friend to keep them from making those double meaning slogans or what have you but then again we would miss out on those to talk about and laugh at.

Yes, I remember -- a fine meal and a fun conversation. The man with me on that occasion, however, was my husband, the computer guru, who can also be amusing, but is not -- thankfully -- quite so gutter-minded.

My copy editor friend's humor is sometimes a little baffling. He's still laughing about this headline over a recipe: "Don't preheat the oven when baking Betty's cake."

About 30 years ago The Suburban LIFE (Cicero/Berwyn edition) had a picture of a group of nice old babi who had all won prizes for their baked goods.

The caption under the photo of them smiling & proudly displaying their wares read:

"BOHEMIAN MASTER BAKERS"
