Hey LTH'ers...hope you all had great holidays.

I'm going to get together with a friend on Friday and she suggested an alcohol-heavy brunch, which sounds fabulous to me. But...brunch is more of a weekend commodity in this town and I was wondering if you all knew of any place where we might get more high level brunch food on a weekday -- with booze. BYOB would be okay but mixed drinks would be better.

I thought of Tweet, which is a place I like very much and would do just fine but it's always fun to try something new.

Any ideas that you all might come up with would be great. Would prefer not to do a hotel restaurant unless it's a bit special. Can't do anything really high end -- like the Trump restaurant. Oh..and we're strictly city girls...although Evanston or Oak Park would be fine.

    Thanks for thinking about it!

Nightwood and Lula are both open beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Fridays--not sure what the menu is like but certainly worth calling to check...I'm guessing it would serve your purpose on all counts.

According to their website, Nightwood only serves brunch on Sundays and is not open for breakfast any other day. Lula indeed has an everyday breakfast menu and serves a full bar. Another place that does both is Prasino, open at 9 a.m. on weekdays. Both Lula and Prasino show breakfast menus on their websites.
