Quirky doesn't begin to describe this IFC show. I mention this show for one reason only and that reason is episode one and the scene involving the ordering of chicken for dinner. In a spoof of the whole "sourcing" trend, I will only partially quote the waitress..."your chickens name is Colin..." Catch it on demand.

Should mention the scene continues to play out through the whole episode. Very, very funny.

I'm three or four episodes in and I think they are already running out of ways to make fun of Portland. Not sure I'm going to devote anymore DRV space to this show.

I think the "food source couple" was the same couple who recently attempted to micromanage how Aubrey Plaza would house-sit their house for two hours--which I also found very funny.

    I also think so.

I'm pretty sure that all the skits feature the two actors Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein since it is their show....

Yes, but (at the risk of belaboring the obvious) they play different characters in various scenes. The question is whether the "micromanaging" couple is the same as the "locavore" couple. It appeared to me that they are, but I'm not sure.

I don't think they are. The micromanaging couple seemed much more uptight/yuppie than the locavores.

    I don't know though.

On second thought, I think you're right.

Portlandia, a half hour show on Independent Film Channel (IFC) is hillarious and pokes fun on all things Portland. But its rifts on food related themes such as free range poultry, cafe culture and mixologists etc are not specific to Portland and had me on the floor laughing.
What disease did cured ham actually have?

The second series of 6 shows just started, so they obviously don't think so. Carrie Brownstein outclasses Fred Armisen in the series. Funny and a great guitar player.

I like the scene where the guy forgot his bag at the grocery store. It sort of reminds me of forgetting to weigh your produce at Treasure Island before you go to the checkout counter:

Hi- This show is available for free on Comcast in on demand. I am going to have to watch it. I am not sure if just last season's episodes are on on demand or not. Hope this helps, Nancy
