Has anybody tried this? If so, would you share your recipe?

I have made this with beef and no kidding its good. I adapted this recipe for birria. I suggest marinating the birria overnight in the onion and red wine and a little garlic powder or season salt and then adding all to crockpot.

    CROCKPOT BIRRIA BURGUNDY

1 1/2 lb birria (one inch cubed)

1 can french onion soup (undiluted)

1 can golden mushroom soup (undiluted)

    1 small can mushrooms (drained)

    1/2 medium onion (chopped)

1/2 - 1 can of burgundy or any red wine (use empty soup can)

Mix all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on low 6-8 hours. Thicken if necessary with flour or corstarch in water slurry. Serve over rice or noodles.

You should probably also dump in a can of Campbell's Fiesta Nacho Cheese Soup for that authentic Mexican flavor.

Rick Bayless has a recipe where he specifies a crock pot, you can find it on
    http://www.fronterafiesta.com/cook/meat ... isco-style

(note that while it doesn't have LTH-tested recipies, if you google Birria Recipe Crockpot you get a lot of suggestions)

We got Birria for lunch yesterday (go Cubs go!) and I have the leftover meat and consommé. My first thought is simply to reheat the meat in the broth, but I was wondering if anyone had other suggestions.

Using just enough broth to keep it moist while reheating sounds like a plan to me.
