If it's winter, that means a suburban-based dessert exchange. I'll be hosting and can accomodate a total of ten participants. I'll provide a light supper, vegetarian if called for. Everyone is to brong one dessert that has approximately 10 - 12 servings. Remember to bring at least a couple of continers in which to bring home your booty/bounty. I live near Oakbook Shopping Center and will PM the address in the week prior to the event.

    Attendees

Ms. Ingie - Sticky Toffee Pudding
Pie Lady - Chocolate, Pear and Almond Flan
    Toria - Chocolate Bundt Cake
    Gohan Lover -
    Izzy
    Cathy 2 - Cranberry Cake
    SueF - something chocolate ?
    Chouxfly - Apple Turnovers
    justjoan - something cranberry?

I am going to make a spicy carrot cake. Usually I make it without frosting, but if that doesn't fly, I could do the traditional cream cheese, or maybe step out and do chocolate? Hmmmm?

I LOVE carrot cake, with or without the cream cheese frosting. Don't know about chocolate though...

I'm attempting to make a weird thing. It's called a Chocolate, Pear & Almond Flan, but it's baked in a cake-like crust and it shows a serving cut out and plated with chocolate sauce. An exact recipe found in another book by the same company calls it Chocolate, Pear & Almond Pie. So gosh darn it, it's pie.

Update from SueF: She's been reading the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook, and is trying to figure out which treat from there to make. She's been reading me tidbits on some of these things and it's pretty crazy stuff (no surprise coming from David Chang's food empire). Her order from Amazon including citric acid, corn flour and glucose syrup just arrived.

I'm going to make apple turnovers.

I will bring some cooked ones to cut up and share, and the take-home ones uncooked and frozen. They are very easy to cook in a toaster oven, so they are hot and fresh for breakfast.

    Hi,

I was thinking of making the same cranberry cake I made last month using revised baking temperature cycles from Dobra. If that is a snore, I will make something else.

At this point, I'm hoping to make a year without dessert, so perhaps I will join you in May.

8+months & counting without cake, cookie, ice cream, candy, pie.
