Are they lacking for fans? Everything we have had from there has been good.

Okay, but not exceptional. Nothing special to be found there.

I've been to most of the other places mentioned here as well, and have found them unexceptional. In my experience, there are a lot of bakeries where the pastries are just so-so, or where one or two items are great but the rest aren't (such as Delightful Pastries for their rainbow cookies). There just aren't very many where you can try a lot of different things and they're ALL wonderful. Fortunately, we have a few of those; in addition to the great ones I posted about above - Vanille, Fox & Obel, Swedish Bakery, Gourmet Frog, Three Tarts, Floriole, and Gerhard's - I'd also second the recommendation for Toni's.

Incidentally, Rolf's Patisserie was mentioned above; as noted elsewhere here on LTH, Rolf's has closed.

They do a good job decorating cakes, but I have not liked much of the baked goods from this bakery. The only thing I liked were the mini chocolate baskets filled with some kind of mousse and raspberries.
