Love all things Scooters...just wish the patrons were a bit more...shall we say...clueful (as opposed to clueLESS). I actually once had one of them argue with me that she'd only be a "minute" and that I should wait to exit my garage while she ran her brood inside and got their fix!!! I know there's probably no easy solution since the area is just not conducive to the amount of traffic the place attracts and the lack of neighborhood parking options. I'm sure it's not a stretch to see how the residents would become frustrated. But the tradeoff is I get to run across the street and get the best frozen custard in the city WHENEVER I want so i'll live  Worms and dirt, here we come!!

Since I'm often on a bike, I also assumed we were part of traffic :-). But, duly noted that many times people forget! (And, duly noted that sometimes we, the bikers, aren't always good driving citizens).

But, back to Scooters....today is the day! Enjoy it if anyone here finds they must get their fix RIGHT NOW!

Last fall I was on the phone and looking out my window. I watched a guy on the second floor exit his condo through the sliding glass door onto his balcony, walk across the roof and go through the emergency stairway exit. About 5 minutes later he entered onto the roof with Scooters in hand. I guess you could call needing to have Scooter's an emergency

I think there is an easy solution and that's to park in the City lot on Melrose next to the Library. Its rarely full and only a minute walk to Scooter's. The Paulina/Belmont intersection is bad enough already without "creative parkers" adding to the mix. And believe you me, after sitting down and inhaling a gallon or so of Mocha Snickers Concrete, some of them could use the exercise :D

But no line at all at 4:30, fortunately.

If I have to drive to Scooter's, if I don't walk the dog there, I never have trouble finding parking west of Paulina on either side of Belmont. You have to be careful when there is no parking for a few hours on one side during the morning rush and the other side during the evening rush, but it doesn't take much to find a legal parking spot. Maybe it turned into pay parking but the custard is worth a quarter!

Drove by on the way home from work last night and loved seeing the "Open" sign. Can't wait!

Have to support the neighborhood so here's my vote for continuing Scooters' status as a GNR. The owners put out a quality product that always satisfies and delights. They also happen to be lovely people, which carries over to their staff, who are always friendly and welcoming. It's nice to see a successful place whose aspiration is just that--to serve a superior product and make their neighborhood a bit more special--not to take over the universe with 10,000 franchises. That seems to represent the quintessential GNR to me.

Since this came up the other night, with a group of LTH'ers, I thought I'd share that Scooters has small supplies of pumpkin most days, including today (check their FB page for updates) and will have it in full stock every day starting Friday, October 28th. This has been a public service announcement :D

Mmm... can't wait for the pumpkin. I haven't made it early enough for any of their trial runs yet. That s'mores concrete is divine too, although I may have already mentioned this.

I suggested on Twitter that they do a Maple flavor and they said they'd look into it. I hope it works out.

Reopening March 2nd! Will there be a Peanut Butter Pretzel concrete awaiting me?

I can't wait. I picked up a quart of their new Nutella flavor just before they closed and it is amazing. I just finished the last of it, so March 2 can't come soon enough!

Happened to drive past on "opening day" today around 3. Parents and children lined out the door! In the rain! Reopen it and they will come.

I'm not surprised, they have some of the best custard anywhere.
