Does anyone have any experience of how tough getting a reservation has been lately? I am planning a trip to S.Francisco for my best friends bday at the end of April and was wondering if a two day window for a reservation is feasible.

They fill up every possible time slot, usually in minutes, 3 months before you want to go. So call at 9:55 on 3 months to the day you want.

2 of the times I got in though were from calling and getting seats that had opened up from cancelations. Usually about a week before the date I was looking for.

Just as hard as it always has been. Reservations are 2 months in advance, not 3. On the plus side, if you call on Feb 29, you might double your chances of getting a table (April 29 or 30).
