Looks like El Bulli tickets will be on sale very soon.

Don't forget me if you have an extra ticket. :D

    From FB:

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Saturday February 11, sometime after 8 PM "elBulli Time."

[This will be 1:00 pm Chicago time if elBulli time means Barcelona time]

    sales/wait list is live

I am number 2306 out of ~2900 tickets available or something like that.

I left the page before I read everything and I've been off "the book" for awhile, so others will have more details. all I remember is it said everytime you refresh you go to the end of the line.

After about 20 seconds, I was 1049 on the waiting list with a little over 900 season tickets to sell, so things are iffy at this point. But at least I don't need to refresh my browser all afternoon.

TCK, unfortunately you need to divide the number of tickets by three to figure out the number of season ticket packages.

yeah, i'm just in front of you at 2192. hoping a lot of people refresh, otherwise i don't think there is a chance. i'm assuming that ~2900 is total and every person in line is a minimum 2 tix, so there is no way more than 1000 actually people get to purchase tickets.

No, you distinguish tickets from ticket packages. There will be about 900 season ticket packages sold. At least that is my understanding.

    Well, there you go...same difference.

I guess the real question is, how many people get sent emails/are allowed on the site at a time? Do you think they are sending 15 emails out, waiting the full hour and sending 15 more? I would assume it would be all automated and when that account finishes their purchase it would send the next email out and so forth. I'm just a bit concerned that a few minutes ago on FB, #26 said that they hadn't received an email yet. How long is this whole process gonna take?

Edit: hrmm...guess I missed Nick's other FB post saying that there were 50 people in the room. Pretty weird that was posted before #26 said they received an email. I wonder how many people are never gonna check their spam folders.

    Thanks GAF

If this goes into the next day, the amount of rage that will happen if someone is asleep and gets an email at 1 A.M. saying they have 60 minutes to buy their tickets is going to be great.

My guess is that with this crew people will respond pretty quickly, and I assume that Next will not wait an hour to let more people into the purchasing "room." But who knows. While I am very eager to try the El Bulli meal (and I hope that anyone who was able to purchase tickets because of my post will remember me), I am not so sure that I want to go through this week-long process again.

It might be that 2-tops will sell quickly, and then people in the higher numbers might be left with 4-tops and 6-tops ($3000-$5000), and as a result some might not be able to purchase tickets, but that might be wishful thinking.

Both Taste of Thailand and Childhood were very impressive, but I am not so sure that they were so impressive that I would spend days obsessing about getting Sicily and Kyoto. Next is an excellent restaurant, but those were not life-changing meals (in contrast with my first dinner at Alinea, say). If tickets for those were easy to obtain, yes, of course, but there comes a point that I would rather obsess about other things (wondering if my reservation at Schwa will be kept, for instance). Grant's vision of El Bulli is another matter.

Well, we got ours...that being said, the date my RDC selected for El Bulli, I'm in Nicaragua. If anyone needs a couple to complete their El Bulli table, please do let me know. Looking forward to Kyoto and Sicily, in any case!

    **Editing for clarity**

My RDC has a backup lined up for El Bulli, I am actually looking for a pair of tickets for that cycle as I am going to miss it due to being out of the country on the dates that were purchased. :)

Per Wikipedia, elBulli operated at a loss for many years (instead gaining profits through sales of books etc.). I'm fine with Next charging more than elBulli if that means they make a profit. They definitely deserve it.

(and yes, we got tickets. We were in the high 2000's but our friend was in the 300's and got a 4-top for us. Yay!!)

I'm hoping that some with season tickets could do me a favor... When you log onto your Next account & click on Manage Account, in the Tickets section do you see one line item (season subscription) or three line items (El Bulli/Sicily/Kyoto, each with a separate confirmation number)?

Someone has offered to sell me one or two of their dinners/tables, and I'm trying to figure out the logistics of transferring part of a subscription.

    Thanks!

If you like this person, it's worth noting that by transferring any of their tables, they will lose the right to renew their season tickets for next year.

Nick (co-owner of Next with Grant Achatz) has said multiple times on Next's Facebook page that selling Season Tickets (even just one of the three meals) will result in forfeiting all Season Ticket perks. He has also stated that if Next finds outs any tickets were sold above face value they will revoke the tickets and not offer a refund. They are trying to work out a way for people with Season Tickets to "trade" dates with other Season Ticket holders and maintain Season Ticket perks. Nick is also contemplating how to handle "gifting" of tickets (without formally transferring them) to family/friends.

From a reliable source, email from Next to season ticket holders says:
Tickets for each menu are fully transferable via our ticket transfer system, however transferring tickets to any of the three menus will void your right to renew your subscription next year.
