Sounds like a great menu. What time is this rib-dig taking place?

I'm in. Is posting that here enough to reserve my spot? I poked around at B&C's website but didn't see any place there to sign up.

    Thanks,

I was lucky enough to attend the first Pitmaster Dinner at Barn & Company. I think this might be my new favorite way to dine at Barn & Co. The ribs served at this dinner were given quite a bit of individual attention by Gary, and it showed. In particular, the Jerk Goat Ribs were memorable, and something I had not tried (in that style) before. I'm sure that none of the approximately 30 people that attended the dinner went away hungry. Even though our plates were filled to the brim with four different kinds of ribs and a nice array of sides, the servers came around to offer us seconds of everything. Next time, I'm not filling up on the chicken wings to save more room for the main event. Nice job, Gary!

I know picturs were taken by a couple of my fellow diners. I hope some of them get posted.

I agree with everything stevez said, except I would still eat the wings and jalapenos, just not as many....

Big thanks to Gary and the entire staff at Barn & Company.

This room was just a great setting for the event.

    Image
    Jalapeno Submarines
Smoked jalapeno halves, stuffed with dates, wrapped in bacon and then smoked again. Nice! :)

    Image
    SmoFried Chicken Wings
Smoked, fried and then snarfed down. These were sensational.

    Image
    Coleslaw
    Very zesty and crunchy.

    Image
    Muffin Top Mac N' Cheese
Excellent concept for mac and cheese -- just the irresistable, crusty top layer. I loved the sharpness of the cheese here.

    Image
    Caribbean Fungi
Essentially cormeal mush, the sweetness of which mitigates the heat of certain dishes, like jerk goat ribs.

    Image
    My Plate
Beef Rib, front and center. This was a monstrous portion of very tasty meat . . .

    Image
    Jazzfood & His Plate
. . . an even heftier portion. Needless to say, leftovers were taken home.

As a longtime follower but a non-poster, this was my and spouse’s first LTH event. Agree - great food, great people. The greetings from LTHrs were welcoming, especially hospitable were Barn & Co’s staff, GWiv and Mrs. GWiv.

Being primarily a wine drinker, we really enjoyed the three cocktail selections as they complemented each course and provided good balance to the spice and richness.
