Great tacos in Kentucky!?!

I just moved last week from Chicago to Lexington, KY. I knew I would greatly miss the amazing variety of foods available to Chicagoans, in particular Mexican food, my favorite.
I was surprised to find here today for lunch some of the best tacos I've ever had. I work in a small town just west of Lexington , Versailles (pronounced vur-say-uhls). I noticed a sign for a Mexican restaurant in an alley behind the True Value hardware store. The menu was pretty basic but had the same variety of tacos available at a Chicago Mexican restaurant available only with cilantro and onion as garnish. The tacos were the typical small ones of which you could eat several. I ate 6. Chorizo, carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor. Three salsas were available at the table, a creamy avocado jalapeno, a tomatillo jalapeno, and a tomatillo chipotle. All the meats and salsas were fresh and terrific but the best part were the fresh handmade tortillas. It makes sense, because we are no where near any of the Chicago tortillerias that provide the city's restaurants and groceries with good quality tortillas. The tacos were fantastic but many lunch specials were in steam trays up front, including lengua en tomatiilo salsa, beef stew with fresh cactus and the best looking chile rellenos I've seen in a while. Maybe Kentucky food won't be so bad afterall.

In fact, I will be in Versailles at the end of the month and will, if I have time, go looking for tacos.

Incidentally, for those who don't know, in Kentucky it's pronounced 'ver-SALES."
