Best Bar B Q - Morgan Park

Just visited a very good BBQ place a few weeks ago - Best Bar B Q in Morgan Park - 115th and I-57. I havent seen any mentions of it, so I thought I'd throw a tip out there in case anyone happened to be on the South Side and looking for some Q.

I'm not often in that area of town, but off of the 111th street exit on I 57 there are a couple BBQ shacks - one is called I 57 and the other Best BBQ. I didnt visit I 57, my friend I was with vastly prefers Best BBQ.

I had pulled pork and some rib tips. Loved the spicy sauce, and the pulled pork reminded me of one of those great sandwiches you get in those backroads in the south with a borderline condemned building throwing out pork and ribs like theres no tomorrow.

The ambiance is nonexistent. Bullet proof glass (dont know what the neighborhood is like at night, but in the day it looked fine), no where to sit.... the Harolds Chicken shack of BBQ. But there is a bar next door (Black Cat Lounge, I think) where you can bring your lunch in and order a cheap beer and hang with the extremely friendly and bored bartenders - most people here seem to take our or eat in their cars.

If you're ever in the area and want to check out a place you'd probably never stop at... I'd recommend it!

Aha! My husband and I were driving into the city on I-57 this past weekend, when I suddenly said, "I smell barbeque." I looked around, but couldn't figure out where the aroma was coming from. Now that I have an address, we will be checking this out soon!
