    Hi everyone,

I am hosting the March dessert exchange on Sunday March 11 at four pm. I am capping the number of attendees at twelve including myself and Frank who will be assisting in making some of the food.

We talked about having chicken curry, lentils and rice at the Jan. exchange. Let me know if anyone is vegetarian so I will ensure there will be non meat options. I will send out directions to my home in Wheaton when the event gets closer. I live near major highways and its easy to get here and there is lots of parking.

    How the exchange works:

Bring one dessert that can be tasted and divided up among the participants. Bring containers for transporting desserts home.
    Looking forward to seeing all.

    Participants:
    1. Toria
    2. Frank
    3. Pie Lady
    4. Sue F.
    5. Ingie
    6. Cathy 2
    7.
    8.
    9.
    10.
    11.

Thanks for hosting. I'm in. Unless there is a major weather glitch. I will make a fruit based dessert. Likely something with apples and ?????????? to be decided.

I'm in. Closest one ever to my house. Not sure yet what I'll make, but it could be a strudel of some kind or I just found a recipe for Chocolate Baklava.

    Hi,

I plan to attend. What I will bring, no clue.

It might be a chocolate cheesecake, which I never made and wouldn't mind tasting. I am not yet making it my final effort.

    Regards,

Oh good, now I can narrow down my apple pies easier. What kind of crust were you making? Double crust, single with streusel...?

Hmm maybe I will make a pie too. It will not be a fruit pie...I have brought cakes so far so maybe I need to switch it up.

Double crust. The way my grandmother Mary used to make her apple pie. If it turns out as well as one of hers, that will be a fine pie.

    Just checking...
I will be working at McCormick Place this Sunday from 7am-3pm, so I was thinking of bringing my pie with me, but only if it does not need refrigeration. If I keep it out of the sun, in one of those hot/cold bags with an ice pack, will it keep okay?

Should be fine as long as it isn't pudding or gelatin based

Nope, none of that. I was thinking of making one with sour cream in it, but it would be baked in the filling. Would that be okay? If not, I have three other recipes to try.

    HI,

We will have unseasonally warm temperatures on Sunday. I suggest making a fruit pie without dairy for these circumstances. Better safe than everyone being sorry later. :)

I will make something on Sunday morning. I am not quite sure what, though it may be the originally suggested chocolate cheesecake.

I am in the process of making an entirely dairy-free pie right now, while my kitchen fills up with smoke. Ah, drips.

My official entry is Honey Apple Pie. If I have energy, I may make an extra little sumpin' sumpin.

With this, toria's fruit pie, SueF's crack pie and your cheesecake, it appears we have a theme going.
