Post #1 - March 13th, 2012, 11:36 amIt's almost my birthday, and Mr. Pie and I and a few of our friends will be going out.
When we celebrate these guys' birthdays, we usually go to Leona's and end up at Baker's Square for pie.* I like the latter, but I'm tired of the former. So...
I could use a restaurant that has a good dessert selection.*
Prices comparable to the above but better food. I'd like to skip Italian and Mexican all together.
The closer to Rogers Park or the red line, the better.
Able to fit a group of 5-8 people.
A place that doesn't mind us hanging out and chatting, and has a moderate noise level.
*One-Two Punches are acceptable!

Post #5 - March 13th, 2012, 8:48 pmI'd go to Pasteur were I you - in fact, I *did* go on my birthday. Just excellent in all respects. Very close to the Bryn Mawr Red Line stop, too. Stay for dessert, and have the mango mousse cheesecake, or maybe the fried banana with green tea ice cream. Or both.

Post #6 - March 13th, 2012, 10:05 pmI HIGHLY recommend Tarantino's Over on Armitage. The one time we went (not in the regular budget) it was honestly the best meal I've EVER had. The food was amazing, but the desert was literally an orgasm in your mouth. But for 3 people the bill was a jaw dropping $200 before tip. (And I complain about food costing more than $20!)
It's two blocks from the Armitage redline stop (if you look hard enough you can see it from the station) They are also A OK with you staying and chatting, I think we were there almost 3 hours.

I will definitely keep this on my list, but not for this group!
Maybe I can have Mr. Pie take me there just the two of us. That black linguini looks delightful.
