Although the Evanston Lunch Group dined at BopNGrill a year or two ago, there is never too much of a good thing.

So Wednesday April 18th, we will return. 12:30 p.m. If you have not tried BopNGrill, it is an important contribution to Chicago fast food culture: Kimchee Burgers and more.

See http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=28591&hilit=BopNGrill [Read the first post and then skip to the second page]

Note there is also a BopNGrill in Rogers Park, but we will be in Evanston. So if you want the food without our company, head for Loyola. But we hope to see you.

Toast, as every breakfaster knows, isn't really about the quality of the bread or how it's sliced or even the toaster. For man cannot live by toast alone. It's all about the butter. -- Adam Gopnik

I want to bump this topic. So far we have only three attendees for next Wednesday.

We had a select and congenial group at BopNGrill on a day in which the rice cooker was broken and in which we learned that the special egg rolls were no longer being made and they were out of short ribs.

Still, we ordered Kimchi Fries (very nice) and three burgers:

bNg (Fried egg, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onion)
kimchi (Kimchi, bacon, cheddar, fried egg, cabbage, and gochujang (Kimchi mayo))
umami (Tograshi Mayo, Sun-dried tomato confit, bacon, truffled duxelle, and smoked gouda)

The kimchi burger and the umami burger were particularly good, and despite the absence of rice and ribs, I could imagine BopNGrill as a possible GNR for their specialty burgers.

EvA recalled her days at ETHS and how they used to escape from lunch to eat off campus, but today only two students had made the trek. Students are not as daring or surveillance has improved.
